National Award winner Surekha Sikri Suffers Brain Stroke, Seeks Financial Aid

Veteran television actress Surekha Sikri suffered a brain stroke on Tuesday. She was rushed to Mumbai’s Criticare Hospital. This is not the first time the actress suffered from a stroke. Surekha Sikri had already suffered a brain stroke in 2018. Ever since a nurse has been appointed to take care of the National Award-winning actress.

As per the nurse who admitted the actor to the hospital, Sikri got a stroke while she was having her juice around 11:00 am today.

A Mumbai Mirror reports, the veteran actress was admitted to Criticare hospital by her nurse. As the veteran actress did not have enough money to pay for a hi-end hospital facility.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror about the same, the nurse said, “I rushed her to the hospital, and she is currently being treated. I couldn’t get her admitted to any other hospital because of the high fees. We do not have that kind of money.”

The nurse has appealed to people from the fraternity to help fund Surekha Sikri’s treatment.

A few months back, Surekha reacting on reports of seeking financial aid amidst the Coronavirus scare. Speaking to Hindustan Times she had thanked people who helped her. But added that she does not believe in charity and will be happier if they gave her work instead.

Surekha Sikri was last seen in Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Badhaai Ho. The actor won the prestigious national award for her part. She also garnered fame as Dadisa in Balika Badhu.
