To save boyfriend from rape charge, woman athlete plans ‘acid attack’ on herself

In a sensational twist to a case of acid attack on two sportswomen in Meerut on February 28,  The police have revealed that the attack was staged to save boyfriend jailed in gang rape case.

On February 28, two women athletes Shalu and Garima claimed that they were attacked with acid when they were returning home after their practice in Meerut.
In a bizzare twist of fate it is now being revealed by the police that the acid attack was faked.
Shalu had deliberately thrown herself on a corrosive chemical , which she had spread on the floor. A few drops were thrown on Garima to make the attack look real.
After the alleged acid attack, Soni was arrested after and sent to district jail on Wednesday. Her brother-in-law was also arrested later that evening.
The fake attack was to put pressure on Soni to withdraw a gang rape case against Shalu's BF who was behind bars for it.
The police decided to probe further and the real reason came to light.
The police is now planning to secure the release of Soni and implicate Shalu for false information.
