South actor, Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Tughlaq Durbar’ is one of the most anticipated films. Reportedly, Aditi Rao Hydari was makers first choice for the role of the leading lady in the upcoming flick. However, according to the latest reports, she has been now replaced by Raashi Khanna to romance Sethupathi on the silver screen. The reason being date clash.
As per a report by ETimes, the director says, “We tried our best to work out the date issues with Aditi, but it didn’t work out. Our next immediate choice was Raashi Khanna. She plays a Marwari girl and fits in the role perfectly. When we narrated the script, she really liked the various shades her character offers. Her character is a girl-next-door-one, but her mannerisms will be a tad different. She worked around her dates and joined the shoot recently.”
‘Tughlaq Durbar’ will mark Vijay Sethupathi and Raashi Khanna’s second collaboration after ‘Sangathamizhan’. Both Vijay and Raashi have begun shooting for their portions. , The makers have completed nearly 50 % of the film, and plan to wrap up the shoot by the first week of December.
For the unversed, Vijay Sethupathi was in headlines for wrong reasons of late, after he signed the sports drama, ‘800. The actor recently made the announcement of quitting this project upon receiving a request from the former cricketer, Muttiah Muralitharan.
