Twitter removes blue verified badge from MS Dhoni’s account; adds it later

American Blogging site Twitter has removed the Blue verified badge from MS Dhoni’s account. This is apparently after his account remained inactive for months. The former Indian Captain had last tweeted on January 8, 2021. Blue ticks are put on verified accounts by Twitter.

The Chennai Super King star has a massive fan following on social media platforms. The World Cup winner has 8.2 million followers on Twitter, 26 million on Facebook, and 34.5 million on Instagram. But he rarely posts on them.

For the unversed, celebrities have blue ticks on their social media pages. This is to denote their account is verified. But Twitter has removed the verified badge from Dhoni’s account and fans are not happy. Fans of the legendary player are not happy with Twitter’s move.

MS Dhoni has retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020. But he will be back in action when the UAE leg of IPL resumes in September. Mumbai Indians will lock horns with CSK on September 19. The finale will be between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on October 8.
