Maharashtra’s Coronavirus cases have breached the 2.5 million (25 lakh) mark. The capital city of Mumbai also saw a fall in its daily cases on Monday with 3,262 people testing positive. However now, Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray is in favor of the Lockdown.
Rajesh Tope told the reports that the CM Uddhav Thackeray said that the COVID-19 lockdown may become necessary if the cases in some cities continue to climb, Tope told also said that he met the CM two days ago and during their meet, he said that if the number of daily cases in the state remains in the range of 25,000 to 30,000 for the next some days, then some rigid steps will be taken. He said that if the numbers continue to increase, a lockdown will be imposed in some cities.
Health Minister appealed to the people to take this as CM’s warning positively and follow the COVID-19 protocols such as wearing face masks, washing hands, and maintaining social distancing to avoid lockdown. Talking about the vaccine, he said that the Centre has told the states that the gap between doses of Covaxin will be the same as earlier, that is 28 days and the gap between two shots of Covishield vaccine will be 45 to 60 days instead of the present 28 days.
