Virat Kohli granted paternity leave by BCCI; to attend birth of his first child with Anushka Sharma

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma are expecting their first child together, the announcement was made by the couple on their respective social media handles, in August. Now, Kohli has been granted paternity leave by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to attend the birth of his child with his wife. On Monday,  the BCCI also confirmed in a statement about the same.

According to a Hindustan Times, the BCCI’s statement read, “At the selection committee meeting held on October 26th, 2020, Mr. Virat Kohli had informed the BCCI about his plans to return to India after the first Test in Adelaide. The BCCI has granted paternity leave to the Indian captain. He will return after the first Test against Australia in Adelaide.”

The couple announced the good news with an adorable photo, in which Anushka is seen flaunting her baby bump and the couple was all smiles in the picture. Virushka had captioned it as, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.” 

Currently, Anushka is with Virat in Dubai for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, she is often spotted in the stadium cheering for her husband. Recently, on Virat’s  32nd birthday, the couple celebrated with the RCB team. The two were also seen cutting his birthday cake and feeding each other.
