India is being hit by a barrage of natural calamities. The country is still reeling under COVID-19 Pandemic. It has also faced Locusts, Cyclones on East and West Coast. Earthquakes too have been rattling the northern states for the last couple of months now. An earthquake of magnitude 2.5 on the Richter scale has now struck Mumbai.
An earthquake of magnitude 2.5 on the Richter scale struck 103 km north of Mumbai on Wednesday. This was revealed by the National Center for Seismology. The Earthquake struck around 11:51 am.
“An earthquake of 2.5 magnitudes was recorded 103 km north of Mumbai, Maharashtra at around 11:51 am,” said National Center for Seismology.
There were no immediate reports of any loss of life of damage to property.

On Monday, an earthquake of 4.4 magnitudes on Richter scale rocked Rajkot city. While earlier on Sunday, the Kutch area in Gujarat recorded an earthquake of 5.5 magnitudes on the Richter scale. Two earthquakes within 24 hours.
An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 hit Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Tuesday. It was the third to hit the union territory in three days. Delhi and adjoining areas have recorded more than a dozen earthquakes and mild tremors over the past two months.
From April 12 to May 29 this year, ten earthquakes have been recorded in Delhi-NCR by National Centre for Seismology. Tremors have also been felt in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka too. Some view these tremors as a sign of something big coming up.
