Mumbai: Rape case registered against actor Alok Nath. After being accused by two actress Alok Nath has been booked under 376 of IPC.

Days after being accused of sexual misconduct by screenwriter Vinta Nanda, Mumbai police received a complaint accusing sanskari actor of rape. An FIR has been registered against Alok Nath under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Wednesday.

According to the complaint, the victim alleged that she was allegedly drugged and raped by Alok Nath almost two decades ago when they were working together in a television show.

Prior to submitting an FIR, the victim made the allegations against Nath on Facebook on October 8. In her Facebook post, she claimed her drink was spiked by him at his house during a party.

Adding on she said, when she left his house feeling uneasy, he had offered to drop her home in his car, but instead, he took her to another location where he allegedly raped her.

After the victim’s post, Nath’s wife Ashu Singh had submitted a complaint seeking an FIR against the victim for defamation. A week later, Nath filed a civil defamation case seeking Re 1 as damages. This was, however, dismissed by the Bombay City Civil and Sessions Court which found that neither of them could claim to have been defamed by the Facebook post.

Notably, Alok Nath, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by Bollywood actresses Sandhya Mridual and Deepika Amin, is expelled by the Cine And TV artistes Association till further notice for not showing up before its committee.
