Mai: Anushka Sharma announces Netflix series starring Sakshi Tanwar

On Wednesday, Netflix India announced 41 titles that are slated to release this year. It includes television shows, movies, and web-series, while some are sequels to the popular ones.

Today, the newly turned mommy-Anushka Sharma announced a new Netflix web-series, titled ‘Mai’, which will be backed by the actress and her brother Karnesh Sharma’s production company, Clean Slate Filmz. The show features Sakshi Tanwar, Wamiqa Gabbi, Vivek Mushran, and Prashant Narayanan in the lead roles.

The ‘Sui Dhaga’ actress took to her social media handle and shared the poster of ‘Mai,’ and captioned the post as: “Oh, Mai! What happens when a docile, 47-year-old wife-and-mother finds herself accidentally sucked into a rabbit hole of violence and power? WE WILL SOON FIND OUT.”

The actress also shared her excitement and further wrote: “I’m excited to announce our Netflix original series, Mai, that follows timid Sheel into an entanglement with crime and politics that will forever change her and the world she inhabits. Are you ready?”

‘Mai’ is the second series produced by Clean Slate Filmz. Earlier,  her production company has also backed the Amazon Prime series ‘Pataal Lok’ which received many positive responses from audiences. It was also listed as one of the best international TV shows of 2020 by Variety.
