India is currently dealing with the second wave of pandemic Coronavirus. As per the data issued by the Health Ministry, the highest single-day spike recently crossed the mark of 4 lakh with fresh COVID-19 cases. Gujarat, West Bengal, Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and few other regions have contributed with the highest number of cases. Owing to the second wave the nation is partially following the lockdown guidelines. As Eid is around the corners, the Assam Masjid Committees stated that no mass Eid prayers will take place at the mosques due to COVID-19 situations.
The Masjid committees in Assam have officially urged the people to offer the prayers at their houses. The decision has been taken due to rapidly surging cases across the nation. The committee says that there will be no mass prayers on the premises of the mosque during the upcoming Eid ul-Fitr festival considering the pandemic as well as the state government guidelines. Only around five Clerics are allowed to be present at the masjids.
For the unversed, India recorded around 3,29,942 new fresh COVID-19 cases, 3,56,082 discharges and 3,876 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry. The total number of vaccination so far done across the nation is at 17,27,10,066 count.
