Barcelona fail to get Willian with a bid of over £50m

Barcelona fail to convince Chelsea with a bid of over £50m. The Premier league club has turned down the bid for Willian from the Spanish side Barcelona. There have been talks going on between the two clubs and representatives of the player as he is currently away on international duty with Brazil at the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Barcelona have their eye on the Brazilian attacking midfielder since three months as they look to get him in order to add a great asset in their ranks. Manchester United were also interested in signing the versatile footballer as it was speculated that the 29 year old wanted to leave Stamford Bridge if Antonio Conte remained as head coach.

Willian has scored 13 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season. Meanwhile, he was left out of the starting line-up for the 1-0 FA Cup final win over Manchester United at Wembley. Later on he came as an injury time substitute.

Willian has scored 44 goals in 236 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Russian Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013. It will be interesting to see if he moves to Camp Nou or stays at the Stamford bridge.
