This result is the beginning of the end for BJP: Raj Babbar

Actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar said in Lucknow that BJP’s losses in state Assembly Elections is an indication that its end is nearing. “This is the beginning of the end for the BJP as the people have kicked them out for giving false hopes,” Raj Babbar said.

According to Raj Babbar, all sections felt cheated by the BJP following its false promises and people’s faith in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi actually fetched this result in the five state Assembly elections. Congress won back three states — Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan — from the BJP.

The actor-turned-politician had campaigned for the Congress in Rajasthan and this result is a pleasing one for him. He said that “like-minded parties” should join hands in Uttar Pradesh too to oust BJP from power, but also said that final decision regarding the alliance should come from the party leadership.

Earlier ahead of the election, BJP lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against Raj Babbar for violating the model code of conduct.

In a tweet, news agency ANI had said, “Rajasthan: BJP files complaint with Election Commission against Congress’ Raj Babbar for violating model code of conduct, for allegedly making personal comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah.”

In a written complaint, the BJP accused Raj Babbar of allegedly using derogatory words and making personal comments against PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah. The BJP has also demanded strict action in the matter.

More than a week ago, while addressing a rally at Udaipur in Rajasthan, Babbar had said that two people from Gujarat are operating a gang which aims at killing the poor people. “In the neighbouring state of Gujarat there are two people who are running a gang to kill the poor people. One of the gangster is the chief of a party, the other gangster cheated the people of the country and is currently occupying a high position in the country,” Raj Babbar had said.
