A three-storey building collapsed in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar on Wednesday, killing five people and injuring at least seven. The injured people have been rushed to Deep Chand Bandhu hospital, police said.

One woman and four children died in the incident. Among the deceased children include — two brothers ageing around 10-years, a boy and his sister below five years. The woman has been identified as Munni. According to the report, at least seven people still feared trapped under the debris as rescue operation is being conducted.

Fire brigade officials received the call about the incident at 9:25 am today morning. Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot near Sawan park, police added.

According to the report, Two NDRF teams have been asked for rescue operations, as the death toll continues to rise. The collapsed building is reportedly 20-year old but its structure was quite a week and was in a dilapidated condition.
