Yash Raj Films has signed a deal with Amazon Prime Video. Four of their upcoming releases after theatrical release will stream on the OTT platform. The movies are Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Shamshera. Four weeks after releasing in theatres they will stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Prime Video India on Thursday (October 28) announced the exclusive licensing deal with Yash Raj Films (YRF). It will make the streaming service the home to the studio’s upcoming theatrical releases.

Bunty Aur Babli 2:

The movie features Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Sidhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari in pivotal roles. The Varun Sharma directorial will release in theatres on November 19 this year.

Prithviraj:

It has Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar in lead roles. The movie is based on the life of the historical figure Prithviraj Chauhan. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Manushi Chhillar and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles. Prithviraj will be released in theatres from January 21, 2022, in theatres.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar:

Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey will be seen in the leading roles. Directed by Divyang Thakkar, Jayeshbhai Jordaar will hit the theatres on February 25, 2022.

Shamshera:

Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in YRF’s Shamshera a period drama. The Karan Malhotra directorial also features, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. Shamshera will release on March 18, 2022.

Gaurav Gandhi, country head, Prime Video India, said the streamer is intently focused on bringing the best entertainment to their customers. He added that this partnership with Yash Raj Films is the perfect demonstration of that commitment.

The deal strengthens the long-standing relationship between Prime Video and Yash Raj Films. Recently, YRF movies like Thugs of Hindostan, War and Mardaani also had their digital premieres on the streamer.
