Actor-politician Karthik has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. The actor is currently campaigning for the AIADMK-led alliance in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The actor is also known as Navarasa Nayagan reportedly suffered breathlessness suddenly. He was rushed to the Malar Hospitals in Adyar Chennai. A ‘COVID 19 test was taken which came out with a negative result. He is presently being treated by a team of doctors in the intensive care unit.
Karthik was taken to Fortis Malar Hospital in Chennai’s Adyar. Where he continues to receive treatment at the hospital. More details on the status of his health are awaited.
Karthik recently called for a press meet to announce that he and his party Manitha Urimai Kaakkum Katchi will be supporting the ADMK – BJP alliance in the upcoming Tamil Nadu General Elections. Photos of the actor seated on a wheelchair and the doctors testing him have caused great concern among his fans. Social media was soon flooded with get well soon messages.
Karthik entered politics in 2006 and currently heads the Manitha Urimaigal Kaakkum Katchi, a party that he formed in 2018 before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Karthik pledged his alliance to the AIADMK during the 2019 general elections and continues to campaign for the AIADMK-led alliance this Assembly election too.
During the 2011 Assembly elections, actor Karthik announced his own political party Agila India Naadalum Makkal Katchi. This was after AIADMK under Jayalalitha refused to give him a ticket under their alliance.
On the work front, Karthik has Thee Ivan, where he plays the lead. The actor is also part of Prashanth’s Tamil remake of Andhadhun.
