Chitrangada Singh on casting couch in Bollywood, says, ‘not the place where anybody forces you’

Casting couch exists in Bollywood, there were many examples in the past which support the theory and many celebrities have come forward and spoken about their experiences of exploitation in the film industry, now, Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh has opened up on it and how she lost projects for not giving it in.

Talking to SpotBoye, the Desi Boyz actress admitted that casting couch exists in Bollywood, “There are people like this everywhere. Right from my modeling days to Bollywood, I have seen them at all times. Corporate industry is just as bad. Yes, it has happened with me but I would like to say that the Bollywood industry is not the place where anybody forces you. There is enough space and respect for everyone and their choices. You do feel bad when you lose an opportunity but then those are the choices you make. So, you don’t sulk about it.”

The actress also shared on how she lost projects, “It feels bad and I have lost out on projects too but at the same time if you are comfortable with it, then go ahead and do it. I am not here to judge anyone.”

On the work front, she will be seen next in the crime thriller film Bob Biswas, sharing screen space with Abhishek Bachchan, who will be seen playing the titular role. This film is a spin-off to the 2012 film Kahaani, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh
