Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger have welcomed their first child, a daughter. The good news was shared by Katherine’s brother Patrick Schwarzenegger. Chris and Katherine confirmed the news together along with the newborn’s special name. Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger also gave the world a glimpse of their newborn.
The 41-year-old Jurassic World actor revealed that the little girl’s name is Lyla Maria. In the post on social media, Chris said: “We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris.”
The action star who is a devout Christian followed it by Bible verses. “Psalm 126:3 The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” and “Psalm 127:3-4 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
Schwarzenegger shared the same picture on her profile and echoed Pratt’s words, writing, “We couldn’t be happier and we feel extremely blessed!” The couple decided to name their baby girl after Katherine‘s mom Maria Shriver! It’s fitting considering Schwarzenegger has called Maria Shriver “the greatest mom.”
This is Schwarzenegger’s first child, but Pratt has a 7-year-old son, Jack, with ex-wife Anna Faris.
