Cricketer Suresh Raina: My uncle was slaughtered to death

Suresh Raina had pulled out of the IPL and returned home for personal reasons. Soon news broke that some unidentified robbers attacked the cricketer’s relatives in Punjab. His uncle succumbed to the injuries while his Bua and cousins are critical. Finally, after three days Raina has broken his silence with a couple of tweets. He has appealed to Punjab Government and police not to spare the culprits.

Raina wrote, “What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support.”

In his second tweet, he wrote, “Till date we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request Punjab Police to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes.”

Some unidentified robbers attacked the cricketer’s relatives while they were asleep. Raina’s uncle was killed in an alleged attack by robbers in the Pathankot district of Punjab. The left-handed batsman also said that one of his cousins passed away on Monday after being attacked by the robbers.

The police has been investigating the case. According to police, Members of the notorious ‘Kale Kachhewala’ gang had attacked Ashok Kumar and his family members at their house in Thariyal village near Madhopur of Pathankot. The robbers decamped with some cash and gold from the house.
