Daati Maharaj rape case: Victim files petition seeking CBI probe

In the development of Daati Maharaj rape case, the victim moved a petition in Delhi High court seeking a CBI probe into the matter.

On Tuesaday, in the Daati Maharaj rape case, the victim moved a petition in Delhi High court seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter. Further, the victim also asked court to arrest the other accused in the crime along with self declared godman Daati.

The victim requested the Delhi High Court to order sealing of his ashrams where she was allegedly raped by him and two other accomplices.

The victim was reportedly raped at the Shani Dham ashram in Delhi and at Gurukul Ashwasan in Rajasthan’s Bal Gram by self-styled godman Daati Maharaj and his two other accomplices. To add to this harsh truth, another woman has also been named by the victim as an accomplice in the case.

In a letter to the Delhi Police on June 21, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had also raised questions regarding the delay in the arrest of self-styled godman and rape accused Daati Maharaj. Meanwhile, the accused manipulated that this is a conspiracy to frame him but has not yet been able to furnish any proof for the same.

Daati Maharaj has been charged with Sections 376, 377, 354 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim reported that she was raped two years ago and did not had courage to speak about it as she was intimidated by the influential self-styled godman.
