Deepika Padukone Remembers Irrfan Khan; says, “Please come back”

April 29 was a dark day in the history of Bollywood as we lost one of the most talented actor Irrfan Khan. The actor who was admitted to a Mumbai hospital for colon infection left for his heavenly abode on that day. His sudden demise left his fans and friends shocked and heartbroken. Recently Deepika Padukone shared a throwback video of a tennis game with Irrfan Khan. Her caption will leave you moist-eyed for sure.

Sharing the video, Deepika simply wrote: “Please come back! #irrfankhan.”

In the video, we can see Deepika Padukone knocking the ball repeatedly. When the camera pans to the other side and we see Irrfan with a racket in hand and knocking the tennis ball from the opposite end.

On Friday, Deepika celebrated 5 years of Piku with a heartwarming picture with Irrfan Khan and the film’s director Shoojit Sircar. Sharing the picture, Deepika dedicated the lyrics of the song Lamhe Guzar Gaye from Piku to Irrfan Khan. She ended the note with, “Rest in Peace my Dear Friend… #piku #rana #bhaskor.”

Amitabh Bachchan, who also starred in Piku, also took to Instagram to remember Irrfan, their film Piku, as well as his older film, Khuda Gawah and its late star Sridevi.

Piku remains the only film where Deepika and Irrfan worked together. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film won many awards and accolades post its release in 2015.
