Dharamshala Cloudburst: Six houses and many cars swept away due to heavy rains

On Monday, the cloudburst incident took place in Dharamshala city of Himachal Pradesh, which triggered the floods causing the water logging into the buildings and the hotels. Heavy pouring created property disruption in the tourist hotspots of Bhagsu Nag area. Around 10 people are feared to have trapped into the landslides mud, while many cars and as many as six house swept away instantly.

Locals took to their social media handles and shared the video and pictures of horrifying landslide incident. Several building owners as well as hoteliers complained about suffering great losses due to the cloudburst. According to the locals, the Kangra District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) training and capacity builder coordinator Bhanu Sharma said that the rescue teams were on their way to Boh. This remote area is around 45km away from the Dharamshala city and the roads are also blocked due to the landslides and heavy pouring.

For the unversed, as per the IMD predictions monsoon is expected to cover these areas between June to July month. It was predicted that very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, the Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and other regions.
