The Empire State Building sports a new look for BTS and ARMYs

BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed in Seoul in 2013. The popular band was recently in the United States and gathered for a huge group photo inside the Empire State Building on Tuesday afternoon (May 21) in New York City. The boys: V, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Jimin, and J-Hope posed against the iconic tower ahead of their live event at the iHeartRadio Theater. BTS was in New York City to participate in an iHeartRadio LIVE interview with host Elvis Duran

The Twitter account for the Empire State Building announced that they would be lighting up the top of the building in a sparkling purple for five minutes every hour from sunset for BTS and ARMYs. They also shared a photo of BTS posing with a smaller version of the building.


BTS too tweeted a different photo and announced how they would be lighting up the building just for their fans.


In celebration of the event, the Empire State Building had partnered with iHeartMedia to illuminate its world-famous LED tower lights purple that coincided with the live event.BTS shared a photo of the building when the purple came on.


BTS will soon head off to continue their “Speak Yourself” tour at Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 25 and 26.
