A class 11 girl was allegedly gang-raped by four engineering students and then left in an unconscious state near the Babupurwa station late on Tuesday evening, police officials informed.
The victim’s father, a police inspector, has lodged an FIR at the Babupurwa police station against Anurag Yadav and his three accused friends, Jackie, Shubham and Abhishek. All the accused are currently pursuing BTech but from different colleges.
SSP Anant Deo, who reached there with the forensic team informed that a case of rape has been registered against the accused.
“The accused would formally be arrested after the preliminary inquiry concludes,” he added. They have been detained and are being interrogated.
As per the police, the victim was known to one of the accused, who cajoled her into visiting him at a flat near the Kakadeo area on Tuesday. At the flat in Abha apartment, the accused was waiting with his three other friends.
They raped her in the flat and later dumped her unconscious body near the Babupurwa police station.
The girl on gaining consciousness narrated her ordeal to the police. The family was then informed and they rushed her to a private hospital.
