FIR Filed Against Hitesha Chandranee Who Accused Zomato Delivery Boy Of Assault

Over the past week, social media has been abuzz when a Bengaluru-based influencer accused a Zomato delivery executive of assaulting her. Now an FIR has been registered against the Instagram influencer Hitesha Chandranee. She had accused a Zomato delivery man Kamaraj of assault in Karnataka’s Bengaluru.

As per news agency ANI, the FIR has been filed under Section 355 (assault), 504 (insult) & 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC at Bengaluru’s Electronic City Police Station based on Kamaraj’s complaint. Police, on the basis of the complaint filed by Kamaraj, have charged the woman with intentional insult, assault, wrongful restraint, and criminal intimidation under the IPC.

Hitesha Chandranee accused Zomato’s delivery executive Kamaraj of assaulting her. She had shared graphic images of her nose bleeding. The delivery agent involved in the alleged incident was immediately suspended. Speaking to news agency ANI, Kamaraj had alleged that Hitesha had refused to pay after accepting the order since he was late for the delivery. She had not only abused him but also hit him with a slipper. While safeguarding himself his left hand touched her right hand and the ring which she worn hit her nose and it started bleeding.

Zomato’s founder Deepinder Goyal had soon released a statement saying that the company is currently providing all resources to Kamaraj and also helping Hitesha with her medical bills. But they want to ensure that “both sides of the story come to light” in the “spirit of fairness”.
