Fire at Mumbai’s Exchange building Housing NCB office

A fire broke out at the Exchange building in Mumbai on Monday. The blaze was reported from the second floor of the building in Ballard Estate. Reported the fire broke out at the Foreign Post Office at the Exchange Building in South Mumbai.

Several people were seen rushing out of the building. Teams of fire brigades reached the spot as soon as they received a call about the blaze. There have been no details of any injuries as yet. The building was also evacuated as a precautionary measure.

As reported by sources to Times Now, The fire started at around 1.15 pm on the second floor of the Exchange building number two located on Walchand Hirachand Marg. It was a level ‘zero’ (minor) fire. Water tankers and fire engines were rushed to the spot and the blaze was doused.

Sources added The blaze was caused by short-circuit, some office furniture and stationery were gutted in the fire.

It is the same building that houses the Narcotics Control Bureau office. The NCB has been in news for carrying out investigations in the Rhea Chakraborty Drug Case. The Office is located on the third floor.
