Fuel price hike: Petrol costs Rs 87.73 per litre in Mumbai, Rs 82.26 per litre in Delhi

The vehicle users across the country are worried as the prices of fuel continue to soar high. Notably, the petrol is being sold at Rs 82.26 per litre in Delhi and Rs 87.73 per litre in Mumbai on Tuesday. The diesel is being retailed at Rs 74.11 per litre and Rs 77.68 per litre in Delhi and Mumbai respectively.

The petrol prices were increased by Rs 0.29 and Rs 0.23 in Delhi and Mumbai respectively. A spike of the hike was also witnessed in diesel prices by Rs 0.29 and Rs 0.31 respectively.

The news agency ANI quoted, “Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi are Rs 82.26 per litre (increase by Rs 0.23) and Rs 74.11 (increase by Rs 0.29) respectively. Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai are Rs 87.73 per litre (increase by Rs 0.23) and Rs 77.68 per litre (increase by Rs 0.31) respectively.”

On Monday, petrol had crossed the mark of Rs 82 in the national capital, while in Mumbai it was available for Rs 87.50 per litre.

On Thursday last week, the PM Modi-led central government slashed the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 2.50. Within few hours, several states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and others came forward and cut fuel prices.
