Grimes and Elon Musk Change Their Son’s Name Again

Elon Musk and his girlfriend Grimes welcomed their first child together in May. As was expected from the quirky couple, they picked out quite a conversation starter name for their son. He was first named X Æ A 12, which left followers confused as to whether the couple was serious. However, once it was quite confirmed that it was indeed the newborn’s name, many wondered how to pronounce it. Grimes and Elon Musk changed their baby’s name earlier and it appears that they have now done so for the third time.

The couple had earlier changed their son’s name from X Æ A 12 to X Æ A-Xii. This was done in order to comply with the Californian rule which allows only 26 letters of the alphabet along with an apostrophe to be used in an official name. Moreover, numbers, emojis, accents, or other symbols are not accepted as valid. However, it now appears as if Grimes and Elon Musk have made another change in their son’s name. According to the child’s birth certificate, he is now named X AE A-XII Musk.

The reason behind the name still remains the same as Grimes explained earlier. X stands for the “unknown variable,” Æ (now AE) is her “elven spelling of AI,” and the A-12 (A-XII) is the forerunner to the couple’s favorite aircraft, SR-71 plane. Moreover, the pronunciation of the name will still remain the same

Thankfully, the pronunciation also remains the same, “it’s just X, like the letter X. Then A.I. Like how you said the letter A then I and the number 12.”
