Hardik Pandya on Saturday posted a memorable picture on Instagram to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Test debut for the Indian national team. The all-rounder at recent times has been a reliable source for the Men in Blue, filling the void left behind by the legendary World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev with some eye-catching performances.

The 24-year-old making his Test debut in the away series against Sri Lanka two-years ago, scored a brilliant half-century and followed it up with record-breaking 100, becoming the first Indian batsman to notch-up a Test century before lunch.

He has gone on to play seven matches for the Indian cricket team and has scored 368 runs at an average of 36.38 with his highest score being the 108, he amassed against the Lankans. Pandya has also been improving as a bowler and so far has taken seven wickets in as many games.

Celebrating his one-year anniversary in the longest formats of the game, the all-rounder from Baroda shared a picture of himself on Instagram and captioned it as “#OnThisDay last year: TEST From debut in to now in it’s been a memorable experience so far.”

Pandya is currently in England as part of the Indian Test squad that will face England in the five-match Test series starting August 1.

He had a disappointing campaign in the T-20 and ODI series where he failed to contribute anything both with the ball and bat. Nonetheless, he will still a be key member in the Test matches as Virat Kohli’s boys aims at becoming just the fourth Indian team to win a Test series in English soil.
