Health Minister Harsh Vardhan: COVID-19 Vaccine Possible By March 2021

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan has claimed that India shall have a vaccine ready by March 2021. He even offered to take the first shot himself, if people have any ‘trust deficit’. The Union health minister added that no date for launching the Covid-19 vaccine has been fixed yet.

Vardhan while interacting with his social media followers using his Sunday ‘Samvad’ platform added, “To allay fears regarding the safety aspect of the vaccines, Harsh Vardhan said he will be happy to take the first dosage of vaccine if some people have a trust deficit.”

The health minister has assured that the government is taking full precautions in conducting the human trials of the vaccine. He further added that the vaccine, once ready, will be made available to those who need it the most irrespective of their paying capacity.

n his one-hour interaction, the minister discussed several issues related to Covid-19. He revealed that a vaccine expert group has been set up under the guidance of PM Modi, which is overseeing the entire process. As soon as the results are out manufacturers will be advised to start mass production. The government is thinking about granting emergency authorization of the vaccine for senior citizens, frontline workers. But it will be given only if it meets the standards.
