Social media can take people lives. In a latest incident, a married man in Hyderabad committed suicide after his wife scolded him for chatting with his female friend. Soon after getting to know about the incident, the woman friend too committed suicide. The incident took place in a span of two days, said police.
As per to the police, on Saturday Shiva Kumar (27) committed suicide after his wife scolded him for continuously chatting with his friend twin city of Hyderabad (19) on WhatsApp. The wife also threatened him of complaining about it to his parents. Venella came to know about the suicide of Kumar and committed suicide by consuming poison. Though she was admitted in the hospital, she succumbed at the government-run Gandhi Hospital on Sunday, the police said.
The incident took place in Maredpally area of Secunderabad , also called twin city of Hyderabad. The official said that both Kumar and Venella lived near the same locality. Though Kumar committed suicide by hanging himself when he was alone at home, Venella drunk poison. Police said that they are investigating the case and checking the chats shared between the duo.
