Imtiaz Ali is known for his impact making Bollywood films, that make us cry, laugh, fall in love and even get lost in ourselves. Now his younger brother Sajid Ali has stepped into film making with his debut ‘Laila Majnu’, starring Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri.
Sajid agrees that his elder brother has had a great influence on him. From the early ages, Imtiaz has been the go to person for Sajid during the times of crisis.
This director takes us on a journey of a couple madly in love which gives them strength to go against all the odds. The trailer glances you through their initial stage of falling in love, later moving towards the phase of struggle that shows willingness to live for each other.
In the trailer even the characters are introduced, Tripti Dimri as Laila, the flirty new woman in town, and Avinash Tiwary as Kais, the man who wishes to take advantage of that. The struggle angle is introduced following their romance, when Laila’s father decides to crush the romance.
The Laila Majnu are separated and Kais starts living in solitude, where his condition deteriorates and he is seen looking suspiciously at a patch of grass. Soon, we see him dreaming about his lover in an angelic white dress.
