Jain monk Tarun Sagar passes away at 51

Revered Jain monk Tarun Sagar passed away after prolonged illness on Saturday morning. He was 51 years old.

According to reports, Digambar Tarun Sagar passed way at about 3 am at Radhapuri Jain temple at Delhi’s Krishna Nagar area. Later in day, his last rites will be performed at Tarun Sagar tirth, located near Delhi-Meerut highway.

Few days back, Jain monk Tarun Sagar was diagnosed with jaundice, following which he was admitted to a private hospital. Inspite of the best efforts given by the doctors of the hospital, his health didn’t show any sign of improvement.

Past few days, He had declined taking his medicines, because of which his health deteriorated further. His associates and disciples the decided to shift him to the Radhapuri temple, where he opted for ‘Santhara’ – the Jain ritual of fast till death.

The sudden demise of Jain monk Tarun Sagar is mourned by the entire country. Condolences poured in for the Digambar Jain monk.

Several dignitaries like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Rajnath Singh and several others took to twitter to pay their homage to the revered Jain monk.
