Kannada Bigg Boss contestant and actress Chaitra Kotturu on Thursday attempted suicide. The actress attempted suicide by consuming phenyl at her residence in Kolar. She was soon rushed to a local hospital after she attempted the drastic step. Her condition is now said to be stable. Reportedly Chaitra took the drastic step owing to problems in her marriage.
Sources reveal that Chaitra’s and Nagarjuna’s marriage was on the rocks since day one. Nagarjuna’s family had refused to accept their relationship.
Chaitra was in a relationship with a Mandya-based businessman named Nagarjuna. But he was delaying the marriage. Recently Nagarjuna himself has alleged that he was being “forced” by some groups to marry the actress even though he was not interested in the wedlock.
But later the two had tied the knot in a temple recently. Pictures from their temple wedding had gone viral on social media. The two got married at the Byatarayanapura Ganapathi temple in the presence of her family. However, the groom’s family accused her of forcefully marrying Nagarjuna by issuing threats.
After marriage, when the actress went to Nagarjuna’s ancestral house, she was reportedly not allowed inside. Nagarjuna’s parents called the wedding invalid.
Sources added that the matter soon reached the police and both the families were called to the police station in Kolar for their statements.
Kotturu was a contestant in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7. She was a scriptwriter for TV serials before entering the show hosted by Kiccha Sudeep. She had also acted in a supporting role in Haripriya’s Soojidaara.
