#MeToo: Maharashtra State Commission for Women issues notice to Nana Patekar

As per a tweet by news agency, ANI, the Maharashtra State Commission for Women has issued notices to Nana Patekar, Rakesh Sarang and Ganesh Acharya among others. Patekar and others have been given ten days time to file their replies.

The commission has also asked for an update on the investigation into Dutta’s complaint and has asked her to come to their office and record a statement.

Vijaya Rahatkar from Maharashtra State Commission for Women was quoted by the news agency saying, “Have taken cognizance of #TanushreeDutta complaint& asked her to appear before the commission within 10 days. Have sent notices to people against whom Tanushree has filed complaint & asked them to appear before us within 10 days.”

Nana Patekar was going to address the media over the allegations yesterday but he cancelled it because his lawyer advised him to not say anything on the matter as of now.

Tanushree recently alleged that Patekar misbehaved with her while filming a special song of the film Horn Ok Pleasss 10 years ago and also called goons from a political party to threaten her. On Saturday, Tanushree filed police complaint against Patekar for harassing her in 2008. Several actors from Bollywood lauded Tanushree for talking about this incident but some celebrities questioned her for not taking legal action earlier.
