Michael Vaughan calls India skipper Virat Kohli ‘the worst reviewer’

Indian captain Virat Kohli takes a review during the India-South Africa Test series

Former England captain Michael Vaughan acknowledged the fact that Indian skipper Virat Kohli might be the best batsman in the world but he is also the ‘worst’ reviewer after the 29-year old wasted two reviews in succession during the fifth Test against England at the Oval.

Kohli took two reviews during England’s second innings and unfortunately, both didn’t go in India’s favour.

Vaughan took to Twitter to express himself.

He tweeted, “Virat is the best Batsman in the World .. #Fact .. Virat is the worst reviewer in the World .. #Fact #ENGvsIND.”

His first mistake with the review came in the 10th over when a Ravindra Jadeja delivery struck opener Keaton Jennings on the pads after which Kohli took the review. Replays showed that the ball had pitched outside the off-stump. The Hawkeye later showed the same thing and it turned out to be a wasted review at the end.

Just two overs later another Jadeja delivery hit Alastair Cook on the pads. The left-hander tried to cut the ball but missed it completely having caught on the back foot. The impact was outside off and after Kohli took the review, it was seen that ball was outside the off-stump.

India currently trails 1-3 in the five-match series.
