Nicolas Cage to feature as Tiger King’s Joe Exotic in new TV series

Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage has given stellar performances in multiple hit movies including National Treasure and Ghost Rider. Cage is now all set to mark his debut on the small screen. He will be seen essaying the role of Joe Exotic, on whose life the Netflix series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness is based. Nicholas Cage will be playing the eccentric zookeeper Joe Exotic in a new TV series.

A per a Variety report, Cage is set to portray the former zookeeper Exotic, born Joseph Schreibvogel, in a television series based on the Texas Monthly story “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild” written by Leif Reigstad. This will be a scripted television series that will be divided into eight episodes.

The report further adds, the television series will be produced by CBS and Imagine Television Studios. According to various sources, the series will chronicle the life of Joe Exotic and the circumstances which eventually made him a well-known zookeeper. It will also showcase his struggles and fights to keep the wildlife park open.

Netflix’s “Tiger King” has made Joe Exotic an object of fascination and controversy. He is now known as Joseph Maldonado-Passage and is serving a federal prison sentence for his conviction in a murder-for-hire plot and for animal abuse.
