Nirmala Sitharaman on Rafale deal: Will fight the perception battle

Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Rafale Deal said that Congress is restless as they could not make money from the brokers.

Defending the BJP-led Union government on Rafale jet deal, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said that she will lead a nationwide campaign to “fight the perception battle” with a series of press conferences. The Union Minister also accused Congress president of spreading lies to the people of the country.

Talking to the press, Sitharaman said, as quoted by NDTV, “We need to fight the perception battle. Many of us will be speaking across the country. Facts have to come out.” She further alleged that Gandhi had an “international dimension” and would be exposed.

Earlier the Congress president had alleged that massive discrepancies have been done in the Rafale deal. This comes after former French president Francois Hollande comments last week to the French media, in which he had said that France had been given no choice about picking Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence as Dassault’s offset partner in 2016, adds the news website.

Alleging that Gandhi had been lying about the Rafale jets deal, Sitharaman took to Twitter on September 22 and wrote. “The @INCIndia & Shri. @RahulGandhi repeat untruth several times and use brazen & abusive language about @PMOIndia @narendramodi. They betray their sense of desperation in being out-of-power. In our government there is no corruption. No wonder today the buzz is #RahulKaPuraKhandanChor
