Pakistan left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman has called it a day on his international career on Wednesday but would still continue to play domestic cricket.
Remembered for his spectacular show against England in the 2012 Test series held in the UAE when he partnered with fellow off-spinner Saeed Ajmal to help Pakistan seal a whitewash.
He ended up with 19 wickets in that series as the English batsmen found it tough to counter his spin bowling.
He thus ends his international career with 99 wickets from 22 Test matches.
His left-arm spin bowling hinged on accuracy as he earned a Test call-up against South Africa at home, after a year where he made his debut against West Indies in the ODI series in 2006.

In his debut Test series, he took two four-wicket hauls and also ended as the highest wicket-taker. What followed was a three-year wait before he could once again represent the country in the whites. His consistent performances in the domestic arena, where he has over 900 wickets across all three formats, saw him getting recalled to the Test side in 2010 and was a part of the side till the 2014 series against Sri Lanka.
His role was mainly to restrict the flow of runs in ODIs and he was a part of Pakistan’s 2011 World Cup squad where he featured in the group-stage matches but was left out when the business end of the tournament arrived.
With the competition in the spin department of the national team intensifying, Rehman never was looked at as an option since 2014.
