Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked Once Again. Check New Rates

Petrol and diesel prices are once again hiked after a two-day pause. On Monday the country’s largest fuel retailer Indian Oil hiked the price of fuel once again. Fuel prices in India had seen a continual rise since Tuesday last week. The prices have been hiked for consecutive days only to settle on Friday. They remained stable over the weekend and but once again rose on Monday.

On Monday, petrol price was hiked by a steep 26 paise per litre and diesel by 33 paise a litre, according to a price notification by state-owned fuel retailers. Reportedly, The crude prices increased following a massive cyber-attack that forced the shutdown of crucial fuel supply pipelines in the United States.

The fuel prices in major Indian cities are as follows:

  • Price of petrol in Delhi: ₹91.53 per litre
  • Price of diesel in Delhi: ₹82.06 per litre

 

  • Price of petrol in Mumbai: ₹97.86 per litre
  • Price of diesel in Mumbai: ₹89.17 per litre

 

  • Price of petrol in Chennai: ₹93.38 per litre
  • Price of diesel in Chennai: ₹86.96 per litre

 

  • Price of petrol in Kolkata: ₹91.66 per litre
  • Price of diesel in Kolkata: ₹84.90 per litre

 

  • Price of petrol in Bengaluru ₹94.57 per litre
  • Price of diesel in Bengaluru ₹86.99 per litre

 

  • Price of petrol in Hyderabad ₹95.13 per litre
  • Price of diesel in Hyderabad ₹89.47 per litre

The state-run oil marketing companies: the Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum, align the rates of domestic fuel with the global crude oil prices.   The new changes in fuel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.
