Uttar pradesh key for 2019 win, Modi launches projects worth 60,000 crore

On Sunday, July 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Lucknow to be a part of a ceremony that will mark the start of work on projects worth Rs 60,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh. The ceremony will fall in place after the signing of 80 of the 1,045 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed at the Uttar Pradesh Investors’ Summit in February earlier this year and will mark its implementation.

Leading industrialists expected to attend the event include Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani. IT giants Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys, besides the Patanjali Group are touted to be the major investors in the economic affairs of the state. Claims that the projects to be launched at the ground-breaking ceremony will create about 2.1 lakh jobs are being made by the Yogi Adityanath govvernment.

The district headquarters have made all possible arrangements for the live telecast of the ceremony.UP ministers have been asked to be present in the districts under their charge, and MPs and MLAs have also been instructed to attend district-level programmes along with local industry leaders, Hindustan Times reported.

Modi’s visit to Lucknow on Saturday resulted in promises that his government will provide a house to every Indian by 2022.

Modi was the chief guest at the ‘Transforming Urban Landscape’, an event to mark the third anniversary of three key government initiatives related to urban development: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and the Smart Cities Mission, news carriers reported.

PM Modi visit to Lucknow will see him through July 28 and 29. Modi is reportedly keeping his focus on Uttar Pradesh which is key to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s plan to win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
