Sandalwood Drug Racket: Ragini Dwivedi & Sanjjanaa Galrani’s Bail Plea Rejected

The Bengaluru High Court has rejected bail plea of actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani. The duo is presently languishing in prison. This is in connection with a case related to the alleged drug abuse in the Kannada film industry. The court has also dismissed the petitions of Shivapraksh, Abhiswamy, and Prashanth Raju G, who have sought anticipatory bail apprehending their arrest by the CCB.

Ragini and Sanjjanaa have been arrested for allegedly procuring and consuming drugs at parties. They have been charged under various sections in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985. The duo have been applying for bail since past two months. But their bail plea is being rejected.

At present they are in Parappana Agrahara prison. Recently Sanjjana had celebrated her birthday too in jail.

Since August the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested several drug peddlers in Bengaluru. So far, nearly 15 people have been arrested in the case. A number of actors too have been summoned for interrogation. Diganth, his wife Aindrita Roy and anchor Anushree were summoned by the officials for questioning. However, they weren’t arrested in the case.
