The Police have arrested three people in connection with the murder of 38-year-old Delhi school teacher on Thursday. The teacher, Sunita was shot dead on Monday morning by unidentified assailants when she was on her way to school in Northwest Delhi’s Bawana area.
The arrested persons include her husband, Manjeet — his girlfriend, Angel Gupta alias Shashi Prabha — a model by profession and Rajeev.
According to the report, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta said that Manjeet had an extra-marital affair with Angel, and Sunita objected to it, so they conspired to eliminate her.
Police also said that robbery could not have been the reason for the murder because the woman’s belongings, which included a bag with cash and cellphone, were found intact.
An investigating officer, who did not wish to be named told Hindustan Times, “We had recovered Sunita’s diary, which contained crucial details of her husband’s affair. Sunita’s daughter knew about the diary. She had told us about it.”
The deceased teacher is survived by a 16-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son.
