Speaker and 2 Deputy CM post in Karnataka to go to Congress

After Yeddyurappa’s resignation as the Chief Minister, the alliance of JD(S) and Congress came into the scene and now Kumaraswamy is to be the next CM of the Karnataka State.

And now the News is that the Deputy Chief Minister and the Speaker posts go to Congress, and ahead of the swearing in, Rahul Gandhi will decide on the names for the same.

Congress has reportedly decided to give one of the Deputy CM posts to G Parmeshwara who is from a Dalit Community. Congress won 78 seats in Karnataka, is likely to get 20-berths in the 33-member Karnataka cabinet. The JD(S), which has 37 MLAs after H D Kumaraswamy vacated his Ramanagara seat, will get the rest of the seats.

Kumaraswamy met with Rahul and Sonia on Monday evening at Congress Chief’s residence.

According to the reporters, Kumaraswamy went to meet Rahul and Sonia at their residence as a gesture to invite them to the swearing-in ceremony. He further informed that they have accepted his invitation and will be there for the same.
The JD(S) leader said, “I wanted to show my respect and regards to the Gandhi family. That is why I came here (Delhi). I requested their presence in my oath-taking ceremony. Both of them agreed to be present”.

The ceremony will witness the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasamy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
