The honourable Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to pass any immediate directions to the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir government on a plea seeking lifting of restrictions on telecom and internet services imposed after the abrogation of Article 370. The apex court of India said that it will wait for normalcy to return. The court further added that the matter will be taken up after two weeks.
A three-judge bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra was hearing the petition filed by Congress activist Tehseen Poonawalla. This was regarding the Centre’s decision to impose restrictions and “other regressive measures” in Jammu and Kashmir following the revocation of the provisions of Article 370.
Observing that the situation in J&K was “very sensitive”, a three-judge bench said, “Nothing can be done overnight. If normalcy would be there, we don’t know. Nobody knows what is the situation and what is going to happen. Who will be responsible, every pros and cons has to be considered. ”
During the hearing, the bench also comprising Justices M R Shah and Ajay Rastogi, said some time should be given for bringing back normalcy in the region. The bench also said that it should be ensured that there is no loss of life there.

The court has now posted the matter after two weeks and asked petitioner Poonawalla to come with full particulars.
