COVID-19 Pandemic: Thala Ajith donates Rs 1.25 crore to Coronavirus Relief Fund

Coronavirus Pandemic has hit the nations across the globe, India too is one of them. On day 15 of the Coronavirus Lockdown, the number of coronavirus cases in India has crossed the 5000 marks. As the nation is under a 21-day lockdown to curb the spread of the virus. Tollywood and Kollywood stars including Prabhas, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, and Chiranjeevi contributed huge amounts for relief measures carried out by both Central and State governments.  We now have superstar Thala Ajith joining the bandwagon.

Yes, after Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, and others Thala Ajith has donated Rs 1.25 crore to fight COVID 19. Ajith Kumar has come forward to donate Rs 50 lakh each to PM-CARES Fund and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Apart from this, the actor has also contributed Rs 25 lakh to FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) workers, who have lost their livelihood due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Nayanthara had also recently donated Rs 20 lakh to FEFSI as the shooting and production work has stopped. On the other hand, Rajinikanth has donated Rs 50 Lakh. Other Tamil celebs who have contributed as per their capacities are Suriya, Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan.

On the work front, Thala Ajith is currently working on a film titled Valimai, directed by H Vinoth. Touted to be an action thriller, the film features Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi as the female lead. Valimai marks the second collaboration of Boney Kapoor and Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai, the Tamil remake of Pink.
