Uttar Pradesh Teacher Arrested For Drawing 1Cr in Salaries From 25 Schools

The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested a teacher for drawing 1 crore salary from 25 schools. The teacher Anamika Shukla allegedly worked at 25 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya schools. She has been working there for more than a year and earned Rs 1 crore. She was arrested in Kasganj on Saturday. The incident came to light when a database of teachers was being created.

Anamika Shukla had gone to the office of Basic Shiksha Adhikari Anjali Agarwal to tender her resignation. She was immediately arrested.

As reported by ANI, Anjali Agarwal said, “A notice was sent to Anamika Shukla after we found that her documents are listed for multiple postings. She came to our office to submit her resignation. She has been handed over to the police.

The accused has been booked under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc). Also 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) of the Indian Penal Code. Shukla told the police that she got the job on paying a bribe of ₹1 lakh.

Uttar Pradesh’s Education Minister Satish Dwivedi said that they got information about the teacher through media. He added that an investigation is underway.”

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya has girls from weaker sections of the society studying. Every block in the state’s districts has one such school. Teachers are appointed on a contract basis with a salary of over Rs 30,000 every month.
