VIP aircraft Air India One arriving today at Delhi International Airport

VIP aircraft Air India One (AI-160) is arriving today at Delhi International Airport. The newly designed aircraft flew non-stop 13,000 km from Texas to Delhi. It will land at the Delhi International Airport around 3 pm. The customised plane will be used exclusively for the President, Vice President, and the Prime Minister.

The new aircraft has an advanced defence system similar to Air Force One. It is considered as the safest plane in the world and is used by the President of the United States.

The plane is manufactured at Boeing’s facility in Dallas (USA). It has been equipped with advanced military defense systems and a reconfigured cabin. The aircraft also has an advanced and secure communication system. It allows availing audio and video communication function at mid-air without being hacked or taped.

The plane features twin GE90-115 engines, can fly at 900kmph. Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) and Self-Protection Suites (SPS) will protect the aircraft if it suffers damage in the air. An Advanced Electronic Warfare Suites enables the plane to not only fend off an attack but also take countermeasures in case of an attack.

Air India One will be operated by pilots of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and not of Air India.
