Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Pledge to help victims of devastating floods in Assam and Bihar

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have always supported a variety of causes. The two came forward to donate for stranded animals during the Kerala floods. Moreover, they also donated to the PM-CARES Fund as well as the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to fight the current COVID-19 pandemic. The couple has now stepped forward once more to lend support to the victims of the floods raging through Assam and Bihar.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma stepped forward to help victims of devastating floods in Assam and Bihar. They uploaded a heartfelt post on their social media platform saying, “While our country is in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, people in Assam and Bihar are also suffering due to the devastating floods that have affected so many lives and livelihood.”

The couple further added, “While we continue to pray for the people in Assam & Bihar, Virat and I have also pledged to help those in need by supporting these three organisations (Action Aid India, Rapid Response and Goonj) that have been doing credible work in flood relief & welfare.”

Moreover, the power couple also requested their fans and followers to extend their help to those in need. They said, “If this resonates with you, please reach out to support these states through these organisations.”

Anushka Sharma recently ventured into the field of production with the 2020 Prime Video series Paatal Lok and Netflix film Bulbbul.  She was last seen in 2020’s Angrezi Medium in a cameo performance.

Virat Kohli was ranked 66th in Forbes list of the top 100 highest paid athletes in the world for the year 2020 with estimated earnings of $26 million. He remains the only cricketer to feature in Forbes.
