Wanted for brutally killing beautician, Andhra man kills self

In the case of a love affair gone entirely wrong, a man had previously brutally attacked a beautician and was on the run since then. He allegedly killed himself in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district on August 26.

40-year-old Nutan Kumar’s body was found on the railway track between Guntur and Narsaraopet towns. Initial police reports suggested that the accused killed himself fearing arrest, by jumping under a train.

Four teams had been formed by the police to hunt down Kumar after he brutally attacked his partner Pilli Padma. The condition of the latter, a 36-year-old beautician remains critical.

The incident took place in Bapulapadu village near Vijayawada in Krishna district on August 25 when the accused allegedly tried to chop off the beautician’s arms and strangle her with a cloth. The woman was discovered in a pool of blood with her legs tied in their rented house.

Speaking to the media earlier, Krishna District Superintendent of Police Sarvasresth Tripathy said, “Padma hailed from East Godavari district and had separated from her husband, Suryanarayana, a few months ago.”

Padma lived with Nutan and the police suspect that a fight broke out after the accused learnt that the victim was still in touch with her estranged husband, following which the attack took place.

The woman was allegedly drugged before severe injuries were inflicted upon her. Reports suggested that an attempt to mislead the investigators had been made as he had etched letter ‘S’ on her forehead with a blade before fleeing from her house in Hanuman Junction in Krishna District.

According to police, on August 25, Satyanarayana found Padma in a critical condition when he came to her house after which she was rushed to the Vijaywada Government Hospital. The doctors there said that Padma had lost a lot of blood and they were making all efforts to ensure that she survived the ordeal.

A case had been registered with the Bapulapadu police, who were on the lookout for the accused, until his body was found.
