Indian wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha on Wednesday underwent a laberal repair surgery on his shoulder under the supervision of the BCCI medical team in Manchester as England hosted India in the first-Test of the five-match series at Birmingham.

The board itself revealed the news on its official Twitter handle, wishing the 33-year-old a speedy recovery.

“Here’s wishing @Wriddhipops a speedy recovery. He underwent a laberal repair surgery in Manchester today under the supervision of BCCI Medical Team,” said a tweet from the board that also had a picture of the wicket-keeper following his surgery.

Reportedly, Saha had to undergo the surgery that rules him out for the next seven-eight weeks possibly after his rehabilitation was botched by the medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

However, after repeated assessments, it was learned the problem was a much bigger thing. Saha was found out to be carrying a shoulder injury which again ruled him out the England tour. Currently, India’s first-choice wicket-keeper Saha has so far played 32 Tests and has scored 1164 runs with three centuries to his name.
